Der Cap-Toe, 3-Strap Field Boot (3-riemiger Feldstiefel) wurde ursprünglich für die US Cavalry und die Constabulary Forces entworfen. Das früheste Auftreten dieser Art von Stiefeln kann man wohl in die späten 30er datieren (obwohl ich mir von meinen versierten Sammler-Kunden mehr Information erhoffe!). Jedenfalls war dies etwa kurz bevor die berittene Cavalry durch aller Art mechanischer Fortbewegung ersetzt wurde. Man sagt, dass der Stiefel ein absoluter Favorit von General Patton war und während des Krieges, und noch danach, auch weiterhin in Gebrauch war. In unserer Zeit nun wird das Modell – als attraktive UND praktische Variante des Feld-Stiefels - von der Zivil-Reiterschaft auf beiden Seiten des Atlantiks mit Freuden angenommen. Man kann sogar sagen, dass der Cavalry-Boot durch die anpassungsfreudige Schnürtechnik die Praktikabilität noch einen Schritt weiterentwickelt hat: die Schaftweite ist entsprechend Jahreszeit und Kleidung nun vollkommen flexibel und passt sich hervorragend sowohl an Ihre Jeans als auch an Ihre Reithosen an.
Dieses Paar wurde unter Vertragshoheit des US-Militärs mit der US-Regierung produziert und zeigt folgendes Datum: June 28, 1946. Das extra-starke Dreifach-Leder-Sohle (Goodyear Welted-Rahmengenäht) ist nochmals durch den Zusatz einer schweren Gummi-Schutz-Sohle für Sohle und Absatz verstärkt worden. Trotz seines Alters und trotz ein paar trivial zu nennender “Alterserscheinungen” ist das Leder angenehm weich und biegsam und hat eine wundervolle Patina entwickelt. Dieser hier angebotene Stiefel ist als hochwertiges und seltenes Sammlerstück einzustufen; ein authentisches, historisches Beispiel eines Militärstiefels aus der 1. Dekade seiner Produktions-Geschichte.

The Cap-Toe 3-Strap Field Boot was originally designed for the U.S Cavalry and Constabulary Forces. The earliest appearance of this type of boot seems to be in the late 1930s, (although I would appreciate any more detailed information from my knowledgeable collector clients). This was not long before the horse cavalry was to be replaced by mechanized transport. The boot remained in use throughout the war and for some years after and in modern times has been adopted by the civilian rider on both sides of the Atlantic as an attractive and practical variation of the field boot. Indeed the Cavalry Boot takes the practicality of the adjustable lacing of the Field Boot one step further with a fully adjustable leg that accommodates seasonal changes in clothing and will fit a pair of jeans as well as riding breeches.
This classic pair of 3-Buckle Cavalry Field Boots was made under military contract to the U.S. Government and is stamped with a date of June 28, 1946, one of several pair I have recently acquired. The extra heavy duty Goodyear welted triple leather sole has been further reinforced by the addition of hard rubber protective sole and heel. In spite of its age and a few trivial marks, the leather is soft and supple, and has developed a beautiful patina. This dates from the first decade of the inception of this model and is highly collectable, authentic, military issue example of this historic boot.
