Es ist müßig das hohe Ansehen des Hauses John Lobb zu begründen; sein guter Ruf besteht seit Generationen, gleichermaßen für das Familienunternehmen in London, wie für die Pariser Niederlassung, die zu Beginn des vorigen Jahrhunderts in Paris eröffnet und 1976 von Hermès übernommen wurde. Lobb’s Schuhe werden von manchen als Non-Plus-Ultra in Sachen Luxus angesehen – was vielleicht etwas übertrieben ist – ganz gewiss aber verdienen sie Ihre Reputation was Qualität, Comfort, Eleganz und dezenten, guten Geschmack betrifft (wenn Lobb sich, wie in diesem Fall, nicht zu Exkursionen in scheusslichem, modernem Design hinreissen lässt). Die Passform und Verarbeitung dieses Paares ist exzellent. Mit “split reverse welt” (storm welt); hand-rahmengenäht. Er wurde natürlich in England für die Pariser Boutique gearbeitet.

Little need be said about this good shoemaker, neither the family run shop in London nor its branch opened in Paris at the beginning of the last century and acquired by Hermès in 1976. Lobb shoes are thought to be the last word in luxury by some and, while this may be an exaggeration, they certainly deserve a reputation for quality, comfort, elegance and quiet good taste (when as in this case they refrain for their excursions into doubtful modern designs). The fit and finish of this pair is excellent. Please notice the additional hand-sewn “split reverse welt” (storm welt) to shed water. They are, of course, made in England for the Paris shop.

Condition: Excellent! Near new. Showing the first slight rounding of the heel. This shoe with Lobb’s indestructible proprietary all weather sole has 95% of its life ahead of it. Original box included.
